The pilot project will demonstrate the benefits of NX Filtration’s hollow fibre direct nanofiltration (dNF) technology

Filtration specialists NX Filtration, along with Water Board Aa & Maas, NX Filtration, Van Remmen UV Technology and Jotem Water Treatment

This pilot project will demonstrate the benefits of NX Filtration’s hollow fibre direct nanofiltration (dNF) technology, with Van Remmen’s ultraviolet (UV) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) treatment, to efficiently remove organic micropollutants. The water will initially be used as industrial process water and for agricultural purposes.

The process combines a relatively open version of NX Filtration’s dNF product range with an effective UV-based post-treatment thereafter. First, dNF80 membranes from NX Filtration remove all colour and the vast majority of the micropollutants and organics from the effluent stream, while allowing the useful minerals to pass. The resulting water with high transmittance is then treated with Van Remmen UV’s Advanox system. Jotem Water Treatment has integrated the containerised pilot in Asten and installed a screen to prevent large particles entering the system while the Aa & Maas team has facilitated the pilot project.
